Phil is entering his third season as a part of the Hoover staff. Coach Johnson preaches teamwork and defense to his players, encouraging them to practice the five areas that make up the "Fist" (Trust, Caring, Communcation, Collective Responsibility, and Pride) both on and off the court. He graduated from Kentucky Christian University where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. At KCU, Phil played basketball for four years, scoring over 1,300 points, and leading his team to the NCCAA National Tournament each year. Phil is currently substitute teaching in Stark County, and he resides in North Canton with his beautiful wife of two years, Amanda.
